I am a street photographer: the occupants of my city, with the visual diversity of their oft-hidden lives, become my 'rare and significant others'. I am participant-observer in my own life. Amazing people surface daily to enrich my life, deepen my perceptions and teach me meaning. From this I am encouraged to disentangle from my thin, frayed safety-lines. My occupational knowledge as a photographer is empathy - I hear things through my eyes, and strangers award me the gift of photographs. What a privilege it is to be a photographer!
