Young member of the Hamer tribe

Although I've always traveled a lot since I was a kid, I discovered photography rather late in life. Combining the two, i.e. travel photography, has now become my favorite pastime. I'm particularly interested in capturing people in typical situations or moods with regard to their sociocultural environment. In my selection I prefer the individual, oftentimes even the broken, over the common. As I have a special interest in Arabic culture, I spend a lot of time in North Africa and the Middle East. My gear includes a Canon 7D DSLR camera as well as two good zoom lenses: the EF 24-70mm 1:2,8 L II and the Tele EF 70-200mm 1:2,8 L IS II. I use little to no postprocessing on my pictures - as a matter of principle.
